Ah, don’t you just love the Shrek movies?

One of the most important parts of Christmas is, of course, baking Gingerbread men. They are very much loved in my household and each year my tastebuds crave them more and more.

What’s really cool is that gingerbread are not only lovely to eat, they are also lovely to look at!

All that you need to do it whip up a batch of gingerbread dough using your ultimate favourite recipe (preferably a recipe that will produce hard biscuits).

When cutting the gingerbread men out of the dough, be sure to make a little hole on its forehead. You will thread your string through there. You will not be able to do this after they are baked!

Bake the gingerbread men according to the recipe you have chosen.

Once cool, use some super festive string and thread it through the hole of your gingerbread man. Tie a double knot.

When hanging the gingerbread men on your tree, keep in mind that they are quite heavy.

Of course, you could be a lot more creative and decorate your gingerbread men, but I didn’t have time due to work (sigh).
