It’s that time again where LUSH brings out some limited edition beauties! I went online the morning that the Valentine’s Day range for 2017 was released and SOME THINGS WERE ALREADY VICTIMS OF THEIR OWN SUCCESS!!! Of course, more were released, but they sell out just as fast.
I eventually got to go to the LUSH shop in Canal Walk and, to my surprise, they still had most of the products in stock (although very little). I grabbed these three without even thinking.
I slightly regret not buying more, but anyway, nothing a new pair of jeans couldn’t fix…
A magical bath filled with beautiful neroli and lavender essential oils, colourful candy stars, sparkling lustre, rainbows and dreams.
First of all, HOLY COW! It’s a freaken unicorn horn. How ingenious? I mean, it’s literally just a cone shaped bundle of cornflour, sodium bicarbonate and whatnot, but naming it Unicorn Horn has got us all throwing our coins at them. I personally think it is beautiful and it smells good and it is probably going to snap before I build up the courage to use it, but whatever.
The featured ingredient in Unicorn Horn is French Lavender Oil, not the hybrid stuff. This Lavender Oil is many things, including antiseptic, antibacterial, deodorising and, of course, relaxing. If you want to know more about French Lavender Oil, I would suggest that you read up about Lavandula angustifolia. There’s so much about it that I am 95% confident you probably didn’t know about!
This is a must-have out of LUSH‘s Valentine’s Day range for 2017!
Be still your beating heart with an opulent bathtime bouquet of calming rose and bergamot. This fantastically floral fizzer is full of uplifting bergamot, rose and violet leaf absolute, and its subtle sweetness is sure to melt your heart as it melts into your bathwater.
Although the picture might not suggest it, Cupid’s Ballistic is literally HALF the size of LUSH’s usual spherical bath bombs, weighing a whopping 100g (compared to the usual 200g) for R50. I guess that’s what happens when you want the cutest, pinkest heart-shaped bath bomb for V-Day. Also, you’ll see that this little thing is packed full of essential oils!
The featured ingredient is Violet Leaf Absolute which, like Lavender Oil, is antiseptic and antibacterial. If you would like to know more, I would suggest you read about Viola odorata.
Other interesting natural ingredients include Persian Lime Oil, Bergamot Oil, known for treating people who suffer from Seasonally Affected Disorder (SAD), Rose Petal Powder, and Fresh Raspberry Juice.
They do say that dynamite comes in small packages…
However your Valentine’s Day pans out, you can rely on this amorous organic cocoa butter embrace to melt your heart and soften your skin. As vanilla absolute and Brazilian orange oil sweet nothings are whispered into your bathwater, fair trade cocoa butter hearts unfurl to envelop you in a romantic rendezvous. It’s true love!
I am in love with the simplicity of Lover Lamp! It is simply a white bath bomb with three little bright red hearts on the top. It almost has a Dragon’s Egg sort of feel, appearance-wise. I have a feeling that this is going to be a good ‘un.
The featured ingredient is Organic Fair Trade Cocoa Butter, which is always a good sign. It is known as an emulsifier, skin softener, and it helps relieve itchy, dry skin. If you want to know more, I suggest you read about Theobroma cacao and, while doing so, thank the Aztecs for all of their knowledge.
Other interesting natural ingredients include Vanilla Absolute, Brazilian Orange Oil, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, known for regulating bad cholesterol levels, preventing certain heart disease, shielding the skin and more, and Organic Castor Oil, known for treating skin problems, sunburns, headaches and more.
There are a few more products from the Valentine’s Day range, as well as some super cute gift boxes (one of which was included in my Gift Guide For Her), that I didn’t buy. You can check these out on LUSH’s website.
Have you tried any of the Valentine’s Day products? Which ones are your favourite?
